Question Replacing doorbell

I have a doorbell in the front of my house that is not working properly. The button was pulled out at some point and now it does not always ring when pressed. I'm not sure how to replace this button as it's a small round button that is mounted flush in the door frame. I can pull the top of the button out, but the actual switching mechanism is recessed in the door frame. I would definitely go with one that is easier to replace in the future.

Thanks!

It is just a friction fit. You should be able to pry it out with a stiff putty knife or butterknife worked under the ring.

You probably just need a new button. I just bought a recessed lighted button for around $3.50. If the door trim is wood, you may be able to convert to a surface mount button.
