Need help wiring a 3 way switch as a single pole.....

Its a Vizia switch for 3 way or more. Im wanting to use it as a single switch location. The current switch is a single pole switch, with TWO black wires on it. I have two sets of wires coming in. 2 whites, 2 blacks and 2 grounds. I have identified which black/white set goes to the lights and which is 'hot'. How do I wire this up correctly? Dimmer has three spots to wire...black, white and a red/yellow...

Your Leviton Vizia switch should have installation instructions with it, and those should explain whether it's possible to use that switch for single-location control and, if so, how to do it. If you don't have the instructions and can't find them online, post back with the model number of the switch you have and we can help you figure it out from there.

Its a VP00R-1LZ. I have the directions, and I have read over them but cannot make sense of it as to whether or not I can use it and how. I really hope I can use it in a single spot, otherwise, I get to send a ton back to amazon.

According to Leviton's spec sheet, their VP00R-1LZ isn't a standard switch. It's a
Matching Dimmer Remote to 120VAC Dimmers/Fan Speed Control for 3-way or up to 5 location applications with LED locator and brightness/fan speed display.
In other words, it's a transmitter that sends signals to a remote receiver which controls lights or fan speed.

Models are available for incandescent, magnetic or electronic low-voltage, and Mark 10 Powerline dimming-ballast fluorescent lighting, and quiet and standard fan speed control.
And yes,
All Preset models are designed for both single-pole (one-location) and 3-way (multi-location) applications.
Before getting into the installation, we'll need to know what you're trying to control and which model you bought. Have you already installed the receiver?

I bought the one I referenced before. I have no receiver. I just want it to dim a simple set of bar lights from the single location that currently has a switch.

Then you don't need, and can't use, the Leviton remote transmitter device. Just replace your existing on/off switch with a single-location dimmer from any home improvement or hardware store.

I have to get it online because my home improvement stores do not carry many "light almond' dimmers. Is there a leviton one that will work that has a little LED to show how much dimming there is?

I also have a VP00R-10Z. Is this the 'remote' I need to go with the original switches I was asking about? Can this be used with one of the others in a true three way setup? I do have some room lights that can utilize this if so.

Maybe. The Installation Instructions for that control include this:

3-Way or More Applications (Multi-location)
Remote Devices
Cat. No. VP00R-10, Coordinating Dimmer Remote
Cat. No. VP00R-1L, Matching Dimmer Remote
Cat. No. VP0SR-10, Coordinating Switch Remote
Cat. No. VP0SR-1L, Matching Switch Remote

Depends on what the Z at the end of VP00R-1LZ means. It could just be a color code. You'll need to check with Leviton to be sure.

It will come with instructions. In addition, is you scroll down on any Leviton product page you should find two hotlinks - one for the Instruction Sheet and one for the Product Specification and Data Sheet. Just click on them to download the pdfs.

That second one should help you find pieces that work together.
