Mandatory usage of UF cable if exiting structure? (installing floods)

I'm going to add a couple of outdoor flood lights to my house. Just wondering if I can get away with NM cable provided that none of it is exposed to the outside (only in the light box) or if code requires it to be UF it it exits the structure at all.

I'm in MD. Thanks!

Yes that would be code compliant.
