Question

I have a flourescent light panel with two bulbs in the panel in my kitchen. It went out, and when I tried to change the bulbs/replace with new ones, I can see a little light glimmer from just one end of one of the bulbs. What could be the problem, and please advise on how I can fix the problem.
Thanks.

could be a ballast, or even a starter if it's an older fixture. Try reinserting the tubes again.

If one bulb is bad and the second bulb is weak, the weak bulb may heat up the end but without the second bulb being good is unable to ignite the gases in the flourescent bulb that is weak. I suggest you change both bulbs with new ones. If this problem still is present then look for a bad connection of one of the ends wires or a bad socket. Make sure you have an equipment grounding conductor connected to the metal shell of that flourescent fixture. Then after all else fails try replacing the ballast.

Let us know how you come out

Good Luck
