Correct Wiring to be sure

A room had a fan with lights on the ceiling and this combo was operated by a simple switch on the wall. Now the fan is removed and only (another) light fixture has to be placed.

From the ceiling coming out are: Red, Black, White and Ground

From Light fixture coming out are: Black, White and Ground

What wire goes to where. Is it Red on Black and White on White. Ground on Ground ofcourse. If so then what happens to black coming from the ceiling? Joined to other blacks in the ceiling box?

Simple but just want to be sure here.

Thanks All !!

If you had only one switch red is probably the switched "hot" that goes to the light black but open the switch box to be sure.

Opened the switch it has only two wires one black and one red.

So will join the ceiling red to light black
ceiling white to light white
ground to ground.

Thanks all !!
