Replacing Switch/Receptacle With A Dimmer Switch?

I want to replace a Switch/Receptacle with a dimmer switch. The switch/receptacle is wired with 2 black,1 white, and a ground. The new dimmer has a black, a red, and a ground. Obviously the ground goes to the ground but what do I do from here. It is a single pole light . I'm stuck and need help.

Welcome to the forums.

The ground will be reused. The white will be capped off.
The dimmer will connect to the two remaining wires.

The black of the dimmer to the black that was on the receptacle screw.
The red wire of the dimmer to the black that was on the switch screw.
