Device on side of circuit breaker panel

Hi,

I have a small device mounted on the right side of my circuit breaker panel. Not sure what it is. There are a red and white wire connected to it that I've traced up from the basement, through the first floor, to the second floor where it goes into a wall and I lose sight of it. Any idea what it might be?

Thanks,
Dave

Welcome to the forums! Could be a system surge protection device or a door bell transformer, but without seeing it, we would have a difficult time telling you what it is. Post a picture of it so we can see it, if you will. http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...your-post.html
