stove - transformer hum?
I have recently bought a basic Whirlpool range (WFG114SWB). It works fine but since day one it has a low level 60 cycle hum coming from the controls/clock section. Kind of like a transformer or something..... however, does a stove like this even have a transformer that would hum/chatter?
I called the whirlpool and the generic customer service rep said its normal but couldn't elaborate about transformers or basically why it does this....
p.s.- I posted here instead of appliances since you guys whould probably have an answer for me....

Lucky you got me then since I'm the mod in both forums.
Yes.... there could be a transformer that runs the control board. I looked in the service manual and didn't see a transformer listed but that doesn't mean it doesn't use one.
I'd consider that a normal sound.
