Wiring in basement bathroom

Can my bathroom lights and outlets run off of the same circuit? If so, I a, assuming 12-2 romex. Is there a preferred order of the receptacles?

If this is a new bathroom, yes, the receptacle and lights can run off one 20 amp circuit wired with 12-2 NM-B cable (aka romex). The receptacle needs to be GFCI protected.

The panel feed needs to be terminated to the LINE terminals on a GFCI receptacle. The feed for the light switch(es) can come off the same LINE terminals. The feed for the additional receptacles must be fed from the protected LOAD terminals on the GFCI.
