Apartment Thermostat issues! PLEASE HELP!

I need help with a White-Rodgers 700 Electronic Non-programmable Single Stage Thermostat

Issue: It only blows out hot air. Seems to blow air even when I switch it to off. Today it was nearly 76 degrees outside, but 85 degrees in my house!!!

I am looking at a manuel right now, but I don't understand.

Manuel

Any help would be greatly appreciately.

Is this an apartment that you own or are you the tenant? If you do not own the apartment you need to have the landlord or his/her authorized person do the work. If YOU cause any damage then you are totally responsible for all costs to repair and maybe more.

Welcome to the forums.

It's very rare for the thermostat to keep the heat running when it's switched to OFF mode.

Do you have an electric furnace ? (not gas and not a heat pump)
If your furnace is electric the problem sounds like a sequencer relay is stuck on.

Apartment Thermostat

As mentioned if this is a rental, I would first turn off the breaker to the furnace. Then call the landlord or HVAC contractor, which ever applies.
