Duplex 3 Way Switch Question

Im thinking of installing a double three way switch (toggle top and bottom duplex). Home centers don't have them though.

This will control two lights from one single gang location, both lights are on different circuits.

Is this allowed?
Is there a tab on the device that one would remove like a split receptacle in this case?

Yes, it is allowed. If there is a tab it will be removable. All grounds must be tied together even if separate circuit breakers. Neutrals must be kept separate if separate breakers. A lot of wire for a single gang box. Use a deep box.

Why is there a tab to be broken on these devices?

And do you know where I can buy this device?

The big box stores do not carry 3Wx2 just 3w and 1 pole. Would prefer toggle to decora.

exactly, just without the ground pigtail. Probably will have to go to a supply house unless I can find an online retailer.

If there is it would be on the common so one hot wire could supply both switches. On the other switch the tab would be removed to provide separate power to each light. That said never installed that type of switch and can't say if they have a tab.

My mistake on the reference. That is a three way/spst combination. They carry them. I just couldn't find it on line. Jim's reference is a true double three way.

The ground pigtail should be no issue. If your wiring does not have a ground it will just get tucked in the box unused.
