Electrical outlet slow to charge phone

Hi, I've got an electrical outlet in my kitchen that I've noticed is VERY slow to charge my phone. Other appliances such as blenders work fine when I use that outlet though. I'm just curious what the cause may be and if it's acceptable per code (I live in TX). It's a new house and the warranty expires soon so I want to make sure any issues are taken care of before that happens. Thanks!

If that receptacle is delivering enough power to run an appliance like a blender..... then it's doubtful that it could be affecting a charger.

The only way to know for sure is to check the voltage at that receptacle with an AC voltmeter.

Does it charge faster in a living room or bedroom receptacle? How are you judging how fast it should charge?

Yes, it charges faster in the bedroom, office, etc and when plugged into other outlets in the kitchen.

Are you using a wall charger or does the outlet have a built in USB socket?

I'm using a standard 2 prong wall charger.

The wall charger either is defective or has a lower output current then the other ones that you are using.
If you are charging an iPhone I believe you need a charger that can output 5VDC @ 2.1A
The lower the output current the longer it will take to charge also if the output current is too low the phone may not even charge

sounds like the OP is using the same charger in different outlets.

if you've got a warranty, then perhaps just tell them you suspect the outlet is faulty based on what you've tried thus far. not sure if it will solve the problem though.

Check you connections on the receptacle, especially the neutral.
