Circuit breaker main box

I have an open spot in my main box and I was told I could add a new circuit breaker to have a dedicated circuit for my microwave. 15 AMP would wire with 14/2 or 20 AMP with 12/2, would I just get a breaker for the size I need?

You would need a clamp on the cable where it enters the panel along with the correct single pole breaker. You also Ned the box, single receptacle and cover at the other end.

Yes, but it also must be the same manufacturer as the panel or a manufacturer listed on the panel label as acceptable for use in the panel. I'd install a 20 amp circuit with 12-2 NM-B cable (aka romex).

I posted some pictures of the spot in the box and the schematic, sorry they are not the best. The spot in the box would be where the 3 and 4 spots are on the schematic.

The is a split bus panel. Normally the top is reserved for two pole breakers.
