going from a 4 wire chassis connection to 3 wire cord

I have a Generac Wheel House 5550 watt gen set. It has a chassis connection for a 4 wire twistlock. If I want to run a 30amp 3 wire cord out of there, shouldn't I put a jumper on the neutral and ground, inside the chassis connector in the gen set?
