pot light instal

on my pot lights the box says max 6 no. 12 through branch circuit conductors. Not shure what that means. I have 1-14/3 & 2 14/2 wires [3 way with 2 lights].Does that mean I have 4 branch circuts or is it 7[the no. of individual wires]. Thanks

Welcome to the forums. It is an indicator of the maximum number of 12 gauge conductors that can enter the box. You don't count grounding conductors, and you are using 14 gauge wire. You are good. A branch circuit is one that supplies power to a fixture from the panel, or via another means. "Through" means not connected to the fixture wiring.
