How many couplings are too many- EMT?

Running emt, had to make some bends and I am a novice and I used maybe an extra coupling or two a pro would not use....

Is that a bad thing since I depend on it for grounding? How many is too many?

Whatever it takes to get the job done. No such thing as too many couplings.

As long as the coupling are tight the grounding will be intact. You could pull a grounding conductor if you are concerned if the pipe is large enough.

More couplings are better than shaving off the wire's insulation or breaking a wire when trying to pull through too much at one time.

^What Furd said.

I suck at pipe and a few times, in some crappy spaces, I've made a bend - couple - another bend - couple etc. to get it all to fit right.

You just need more practice and maybe some instruction. If you don't do it every day you'll never be really good at it.

Yeah thats half the problem Joe, my first year was mostly on a lift hanging lights. Very little pipework.

OP, I just re-read your post.
Couplings actually bite into the pipe when tightened all the way, ensuring a bond.
