drum switch wiring

New motor with different wiring

I just replaced the motor on this lathe, the new motor has a different wiring diagram, but my drum switch is the same. I have tried to wire this but I don't want to fry the motor. Any help would be appreciated.

I replied to your other post. Here is a copy:

New connections:
P1 to neutral (not connected to switch)
Switch 1 = Hot and T4
Switch 2 = T2
Switch 3 = T5
Switch 4 = T8
Switch 5 = P2
Switch 6 = T3

Again, if rotation is not correct, interchange T5 and T8.

sorting out shared neutrals?

Long story short, my electrician pulled new wire for a portion of a multiwire circuit. He said he pulled separate neutrals for each leg of the mwbc. There is now 2 neutrals and and 2 hots in the same conduit as it enters my panel. However, Im thinking he may not have made the splice in box where the neutrals split. Instead I think he was downstream between that point and the panel and instead pulled two neutrals and spliced with the shared neutral.... in other words, instead of 2 splices and 4 wires for the grounded conductors (giving each a return back to the panel).... there is 1 splice and 3 wires. That would mean the two circuits are still sharing the neutral. That probably makes no sense.... but I thought I would give it a shot so I can have an idea while speaking to him on the matter.Read More

I have the same drum switch but my motor is a six wire not colored but labeled. on 1 line I have T1 T3 AND T8 on the other line I have T2 T4 AND T5 I am trying to figure out how to wire this to the drum switch. Any help would be appreciated.Read More
