i want to convert 12v dc winch to 120v ac can this be done
Hi, Ill try and make this clear and brief. I have a 12v dc winch. I want to make it 120v ac. Heres my questions
Can this be done and how?
Will I loose some of the "torque" as its my understanding DC power has more "torque" than AC.
I have a small 12volt trickle charger. Would that supply enough constant power to the winch?
I have a stanley pprh5 professional power station. it has a 500w inverter and 1000 peak amp jump starter. would the batteries hold their power enough if it were charging ( plugged into ac ) while it was being used?
Thanks

The jump starter box may have enough to run the winch but usually those batteries are good for a few short bursts before recharging.
You would be better off picking up a 12v battery and use that to run the winch and use the trickle charger to keep it charged. If you plan to use the winch a lot.... pick up a better battery that will handle the use.
