Sewer Pump

For sewer pump, anyone know if you can leave one leg on 230 volt pump hot all times and leave other leg as switching leg?

Thanks in advance. See attached wiring diagram. My only concern is that hot wire to pump at all times may burn up pump.

Had a hard time reading your illustration so I played with it a little. I see a 120v float switch in there. If you are asking can you use that single float to control a 240v pump.... the answer would be no.... not reliably. You'd be better off having that float control operate a relay or contactor.

Hmmmm.... not sure mine is any better than yours.
