With a 100 ft #12 cord and not have to worry about voltage drop? I have a 15A snow blower and want to make sure it's getting as much voltage as possible. I thought everything was cool until I was told to take the length of the circuit and wiring gauge into consideration. On the front of my house I only have 15A breakers powering all the outlets using #14 solid copper wire. I don't know the total length of the entire circuit. But I do have a 20A breaker with #12 wire about 15 ft from the panel in my basement. Its used only for the washing machine and nothing else. If it's safe I could use that outlet to run a 10 gauge extension cord to the front of my house and plug the 12 gauge into that to power the blower...?

Hey guys, I have created a hockey goal light to be able to be set off using raspberry pi and an internet connection. The issue I have is that for some reason the light will not go off unless I start it, stop it, and start it again. The light it a Sentry Beacon that requires 4.2A @ 12.8 V ([url=http://www.fedsig.com/products/85/sentry]Sentry - Halogen Beacons | Federal Signal[/url] I have SY12) and I have a "Meanwell 12 Volt 100 Watt Ul Switching Power Supply 120 Volt Input Constant Voltage" to power the light which after I use the Voltage Adjustor I can get it to a max of 13.7 V. So the way it is all connected is I have positive wire coming from the light to the power supply. The negative from the light to a relay and then from the relay to the power supply. The relay is powered through the raspberry pi computer where it is also controlled. Here is a quick video to show what I mean by starting, stopping, starting again. Also that cardboard box is being changed out with a wooden one after I finish painting it.
