Based on the reply from the post above would this be the correct connection?
When i turn the switch i want down to be a low speed and up a high speed.
The green wire coming out of the motor is supposed to be red but i didnt have red thick wire, so i attached the green one. Also the ground connect directly to the motor right?

Welcome to the forums!

I have moved your post to it's own thread so that it will get the attention it deserves. Most cases it is better to start your own thread. For reference it has been split off of this thread: http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...or-wiring.html

The green wire from the power cord goes to the motor frame.
The white from the power cord goes to the common or white of the motor.

You have a three pole switch there but you only need one pole or set of three contacts.
