SER Cable indoors

Does the code allow for SER cable to be run from the meter socket (located in the basement) through the walls for about 40' to a Main panel on the second and third floors (3 unit apt bldg). Is conduit required? The Electricity enters the bldg from the street. The 100A meter sockets would have disconnects. Thanks

welcome to the forums!

The SER is ok to be run exposed inside a house, however it is always a good idea to check with local codes. There may also be restrictions on what work you can legally do on a rental building.
