I saw some similar posts like this, but I just can't figure it out. Which wires connect to what and what do I connect them with? I apologize, I have never been in a situation like this before. If anyone can help, I would really appreciate it!

Welcome to the forums.

It looks like you have a standard A/C unit..... not a heat pump.
You have a yellow and blue wire at the compressor unit.
You have a multi conductor cable coming from inside.

You will only need two wires from that multi pair wire. It looks like black and white were the previously used colors. Try them first. Makes no difference which wire from the multi connects to the compressor. It's AC and has no polarity.

You also need to make sure there are no shorts in that multi cable. It looks chewed on.
In the event that the black and white wires were not the ones used.... you'll need to locate that cable inside at the air handler and see which two were used at that end.
