neutral buss termination question

Looking closely at my neutral buss I can see where some of the neutrals were removed at some point for troubleshooting I presume and then retightened. You can see the indentation where the screw terminal used to compress the wire. The installer did not restrip the wires when reinserting....

Is this an issue I should address by restriping and reterminating all those connections?

I wouldn't worry about it as long as the neutral conductor wasn't broken.

Rooftop surprise

I went up on the roof for something totally unrelated and found many of the conduit joints have come apart over the winter. None of them seem to be glued. What would be the best approach to repair these. Can I glue the joints and then use weatherproof tape over the crack? The long term plan is to change the main service panel for a 200 amp and the state utility will change these wires at that time. But the growing list of repairs in this old place means the panel upgrade may be delayed by 6 months to a year. Thank you,Read More

shared neutral integrity question

I have a few boxes where a shared neutral is looped thru unspliced. I have to take the boxes apart to put on a larger boxes.... Is it a bad idea to make splices on the shared neutral and should I be pulling wire thru the new boxes instead?Read More
