fan and light combo, switch wiring help

i want to confirm if my wiring is correct before i hook up the switch.

i want to make fan and light independent.

fixture has blue, black, white green.
switch is double pole dual switch from leviton.

the power feed, white neutral goes from power side straight to fixture side via wire nut.
the fixture blue goes to top of gold screw of light switch
the fixture black goes to bottom gold screw
the power feed black goes to one of the black screw and i leave the tab in tact.
green ground is to ground.

is this the correct way to wire a combo exhaust fan light to be used independently?

Was the fan/light combo there before you decided to make them independent? If so, did you run a second hot lead to the fixture from the switch?
