Electrical Project for Display... I'm new to this :)

Good morning!
Long story short: Trying to make two 12V LED Marker Lights Blink on/off. (3 Sec Intervals +/-)

I have a trade show I'm attending next weekend and there is a project I've been trying to complete before then! With the help of employees from RadioShack and a local DIY electrical shop, I believe I have the components necessary to make this happen. With little to no electrical experience like this, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Components I have:
Breadboard
555 Timer
Set of misc resistors 1/4W K/RES-E3, 250V Max
SPDT 9VDC MINI RELAY (contacts rated at 12A at 120VAC/24VDC
Kit with misc jumpers
Electrolytic Capacitor, 1 OMFD 1000 NEH1.OM100AA
Potentiometer Mini/1000 OHM-TRIMMER NO.PC1K

I have looked up 555 timer circuits, but with 12V I am unsure how to connect the relay.

Welcome to the forums.

The following diagram should work for you. I worked it up before I saw the lights you were using.

Those lights are low draw and the 555 should be able to drive them with no relay.
(try this diagram first)
