Fasten PVC Cnduit To Box

Separated from: http://www.doityourself.com/forum/el...sub-panel.html

I have a similar question and wanted to know if the metal lock nut is suitable for outdoors?

I have 3/4" pvc going into a 3/4" knockout of a box like this http://s7d3.scene7.com/is/image/ThomasBetts/102w12_bw1 but only 2 knockouts.

The male adapter from homedepot looks similar to this http://www.galesburgelectric.com/fil...rge/d_5798.jpg
I asked the guy at home depot how I would hold that to the box and he said to glue it on the threads. Is that the right adapter? And where would I find the metal lock nut in home depot? In the same isle as the adapter or else where?

The adapter is held to the box with the same metal nut used for metallic conduit. The PVC is glued into the adapter.

You are limited as to where you can use a box like that outdoors because it isn't raintight. It would have to be under a roof for sure and not subject to being rained on or having water splashed on it.
