Can anyone identify what this is?

Hey guys,

Great forum! I've been reading a lot but just registered today to ask if anyone can identify what this is?



My picture isn't very good but its cylindrical plug shaped device with a clear plastic cap protruding a bit from the end. No lettering or markings. My guess is a fuse holder?

If anyone knows please post!

It's an old electricians chandelier with a glass fuse screwed into it.

Dang, your right an I once lived in an apartment that had a circuit added to the 30 amp service panel using one as a fuse holder. Dangerous as all heck because they double lugged it on the line side of the disconnect switch. (Service panel was a disconnect with a single Edison fuse holder on the load side. Then that was added and left hanging out the door of the panel.)
