Fusing down stream

Hi I have a 460 v transformer with a load that goes directly to a fused disconnect not though a panel with a breaker. Is this to code or do I have to have a sub panel installed?

Is the primary connected to a service panel? Do you mean you have transformer stepping up 240 to 480? Is it 3-phase? Can the device not be rewired for 240 eliminating the transformer?

If I understand your setup, yes. it is OK because it is a fused disconnect. The fuses are your overcurrent device on the secondary of the transformer. Make sure everything is properly grounded.
