Doorbell Wiring with 2 White Wires
Hello.
I apologize if this problem has been addressed previously. Upon reading through the many posts about wiring issues with doorbells it seems that everyone has different colored wires.
I am replacing a 25+ year old doorbell. Front door only, single bell - not chime. The original wiring is 2 white wires with a red wire connecting the two white wires. I, unfortunately, did not label the wires when I disconnected the doorbell. (I know, I know...)
I uploaded a picture of this. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Doesn't matter as long as you only have one button and a single chime (not a different chime for a back door or similar). The voltage is AC, so there is no polarity. Just hook it up one wire to each screw.
