Question about deep wall outlet boxes

Is there a rule on using these deep boxes.. I'm concerned the electrical wire going into the box is too close to the wall and could be punctures by a nail when somebody hangs something on the wall. Wall stud is just under 3.5 inchest deep and box is 3 inches deep. Using boxes on interior and exterior walls.

Welcome to the forums!

Even though the back of the box is less than the required 1 1/4" from the nailing face of a stud, it is OK. Even a plastic box will resist a nail/screw better then the jacket of NM-b cable. Just make sure to keep your cable away from the stud face.
