Light Switch Question
In the process of remodeling a bath, and putting in new lights. The switch that
controls the light bar over the mirror has me perplexed. Put a new light and switch in, but both the neutral and black wire are hot in the light switch box. A couple of
weeks ago lighting hit close by and blew the circuit this light switch is on. Any ideas.

if you have one cable with one black wire and one white wire ...and both wires go to the switch.................you do not have a neutral in the switch box. you have a switch leg only.

Sounds like there is another junction somewhere if both the switch and fixture boxes only have one cable.
