Adding to 20A pump circuit

I have a 20A sump pump circuit. It accommodates a 1/2 hp pump and less than 10W from a water softener. I would like add a 1/3 hp drain pump to this circuit... can I do it safely?

That would depend on your skill level and knowledge of codes for a compliant and safe installation. If it were mine, I would put the softener on a different circuit. Will it work? Probably will.

The softener takes about 5w. I wasn't asking about the installation either, the outlet is already there.... I was wondering about the load.

Ohh...well, why didn't you say so? Sure it will work, but I'd still put the softener on a different circuit. Electronics don't generally like being on a motor circuit, but you could try it and see.

Softener has a manual timer, no electronics. Its also been on the sump circuit for years working like this.
