identify 240v cable in red?

identify 240v cable in red?

Is there any need to identify 240v cable in red or is white nmd ok as well?

In Canada you use cable with red and black for 240. NMd with white should not be used.

I meant the cable cover.
They seem to use red sheath but I have seen white in old houses.

In the US it can vary from black to silver. Standardized colors for the sheath are not mandated by the NEC but manufactures now usually use:
  • White= #14
  • Yellow= #12
  • Orange= #10
I haven't seen red cable here.
