ceiling fan regulator makes buzzing sound

Hi
i have a ceiling fan
the speed regulator contain these speed
1 2 3 4 5 and full speed
when turning on the fan
the regulator starts making buzzing sound
that happen with all speed
except the full speed
at full speed the buzzing is gone

electric is 220 volt
freq 50 hz
the fan works perfectly

I'd ask you to post a make and model but I'd doubt it was a fan we were familiar with.

Most of our fans here use multi-taped motors.
Yours uses a regulator. What is that..... some type of separate unit ?

Some fan controls I've seen use what looks like a transformer and a switch that selects multiple taps on that transformer. Maybe that's what yours uses.

Some buzzing from a transformer is normal. The core is laminated plates. When they get older or are poorly made the plates loosen and tend to buzz (magnetostriction).

but the fan is not old
may be 1.5 year

but what it could be else the problem

A poorly potted (epoxied) transformer is the problem. Can you just change that ?

changing the transformer will not be easy

i have queastion


my fan controller method works via transformer as above

i saw another type of fan controller via capacitor (changing capacitor value)

so which type is better
