What can you do with a redundant ceiling junction box for a smoke detector?
Hello all, I have two ceiling junction boxes that are near each other previously used for a hardwired smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector respectively.
However i recently replaced the smoke detector with a combination smoke and CO detector so the other monitor is redundant.
That old CO monitor is nearing the end of its recommended life and i was wondering are there any (legal) things i can use that for aside from just putting a coverplate on it?

I can't think it would be too convenient to use being ceiling mounted. The NEC would allow other things to share the circuit, not sure about the CEC.
