Light does not turn off

One of my light fixtures is not turning off when I turn the switch to the off position. This had always worked before, and there has not been any re-wiring of any sort. The switch has a dimmer, which works fine changing the glow of the light, however I am not able to turn it off.

Any ideas? Thank you

Got a volt ohm meter and know how to use it?
Simple enough to test the switch.
(most likely just a bad switch?

I assumed that since the dimmer on the switch works, that the switch would also be fine. I will try to purchase a volt ohm meter tomorrow.
What type of results should I expect to get from the meter?

Thank you

The ohmmeter should show no continuity when switch is off but without knowing exactly what type of dimmer/switch you have there I can't offer much further help.

I attached the pictures. After removing the wire cap, the light goes off, so is it safe to say that the switch/dimmer needs to be replaced?

I would replace the dimmer. At this time that Lutron dimmer is still available.
