Did monkeys wire my new place?

Did monkeys wire my new place?
No kitchen light switch in the kitchen or even in the adjacent eating area. It's on the other side of the wall in the living room, but yet there is one in the garage as you come in to the kitchen from the garage.
Light switch for the hall fixture is all the way down near the bedroom. Nothing as you head to the bedroom when the house is now dark.
Fixtures on each side of the rollup garage door....oh no, makes no sense to put it somewhere central or on a 2 way switch where you can see them come on. No, lets put a single switch behind the front door with no view of the lit area to verify operation.
I wondered why there were all these handwritten labels (now mostly illegible) on every plate, now I know.
And last tenant went crazy with CFLs, almost every fixture (even kitchen can lights) have the yellowish (low K temp) CFLs. They even had incandescent and CFls mixed in the bathroom cheap brass bathroom fixtures (exposed bulbs....looks like stuff from the 70's). 7 of the regulars I checked were dead. How did they live in the dark? I'm probably going to spend $100 just on bulbs May try the Leds in the can lights if I can get them for a decent price out here. No PoCo rebates that I know of.
I've just never seen a place wired like this. Ok, it was kind of the end of the local housing boom, but WTH? Another couple of hundred in wire, switches, and plates is gonna break the bank? I just can't imagine who designed the wiring. It's just so random and nonsensical.
Rant done.

Sorry...I meant a 3 way...though that has always confused me. If it's 2 switches...why is called 3 -way? That's why I'm not an electrician I guess...lol.

Two way switch is on or off. The term is fairly common in Europe.
One explanation for three way switch is that it has three terminals. Not a very good explanation in my opinion.
The rest? How many times do you think this place has been remodeled?

No idea on remodels, but looks to me like it was just interior just painted and maybe a door replaced. Pretty sure it was just built in 2006...right at the end of the local boom.
You can see the crap work. Cheap brass hinges put in with exterior screws in a few doors. Mismatched hardware. Cheap contractor grade plumbing and electrical fixtures. You couldn't even lock the front door deadbolt because the had the strike plates reversed between handle and bolt. Though they did use long screws instead of the stock stuff.
Sorry if I'm repeating something I have already said. Long day and late night here.
Ahh well, tomorrow is a new day...of shlepping my stuff over there and buying a fridge and W/D and dealing with more crap I am sure. I haven't even checked in the attic yet. That could be scarey!
Thanks for listening.

If this was built during a housing boom (boon?) then it is anybody's guess. Those are the times when "inspectors" often inspect from the comfort of their vehicles.
Long day and late night here.
