Recessed outlet behind TV

I'm in the middle of installing a recessed outlet behind my TV for power (up until now I just had the TV power cable running in the wall). I wanted to make it to code so I picked up one of these. As I'm putting it in, I realize that this won't have any surge protection. How do people get around this? Should I install one of these in place of the outlet that came with it?

That would be the way to go,you will only need to change the plate for the Decora receptacle.
