Replaced light switch caused light to flicker & make ticking sounds

Hello!
I replaced a simple light switch with a dimmer one for ZWave - Linear WS15Z.
After wiring it up, the light flickered on & off, and the switch made ticking sounds. I replaced another similar light switch but I used a Linear WD500Z and that works fine. I'm not exactly sure of the differences between these two Linear models.
Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong here?
Thanks in advance.

The Linear WS15Z requires a neutral connection which means you should have had three wires connected to that switch. (grounds not counted)

That makes sense. For some reason, my current switch has 2 black wires and the ground, which is what I moved over to the new Linear switch. I joined the blue wire along with the black. Leaving the blue wire unconnected didn't work at all. The neutral wires (white) in my gang box are all joined together but not connected to the switch. I suppose I'll have to pigtail one into the Linear switch.
