Leviton 585 range hood switch

I have to replace the 2 speed fan switch on my range hood. New switch is Leviton model 585:
Single pole, pushbutton switch. 2 speed 3 position 3A-125V, 1A-250V.

New switch has 3 wires: black, red, blue.

The old switch has black, red, brown.

Can I assume: black wire to black wire, red to red and blue (from new switch) to brown wire (existing)?

Thanks

I would agree with your choices. You won't hurt anything if the connections at the switch are incorrect.

Thanks for your response.

I connected the new switch as described above but, only get one speed from the fan. I either have a defective switch or the wiring is incorrect. The 585 switch is a push button. First push - nothing. second - full fan power. Third - off. I could swap connections - which color wire would not be changed, red or black? Thanks.

Leave black connected to power in. That doesn't work you could map the switch using a multimeter set to ohms.
