Grounding rod is emerging from the dirt.

I nearly tripped over a post near my house and realized it was probably my electrical grounding rod for the house. It is sticking up about 2-3 inches from the level of the dirt and partially hidden by the grass. My husband wanted to pound it in, I think that could dislodge the wire. My idea is a wheelbarrow of dirt to recover it and replant grass seed.

Welcome to the forums! Door number 2 would work best. Those things can be a bear to drive down.

Either one would be fine, just as long as the wire is long enough. The grounding electrode conductor may not be spliced, except for some very special methods.
