New door chime wiring help
I moved into an older home. The older doorbell (chime box) was a huge eyesore, so I removed it. I took a picture of the wiring before removing it. The connected wires were: common (white), trans (red), front (green) and rear (blue).
My new chime box just has 3 wire locations (trans, front, rear). What do I do with the common wire?

Welcome to the forums.
Since that was some type of electronic chime..... it needed both side of the transformer. That's usually done so that you just need to push the button briefly and the chime continues sounding.
Place the green wire on the Front connection
Place the blue wire on the Rear connection
Try using the red on the trans connection.
If that works.... just cap off the white/common wire for future use.
If that doesn't work..... use the red and cap off the white.
