Non-reversible 220 motor, L1 and L2
So, I've got a pool pump motor that is 220V, non-reversible, CCWPE (counter clockwise, pump end). From the panel, there are 3 wires consisting of 2 conductor wires and 1 ground. Is it correct to say that it doesn't matter which conductor wire connects to L1 and L2? I think that's what I've pieced together from tid-bits of what I've read online. If this is correct, no matter what wire connects to L1 or L2, the motor will still run CCW?

Thanks so much! Is that because one end of the start winding is permanently connected? Therefore, the motor will only run in one direction? In this case, CCW.

If it's a fixed direction motor then the start winding is permanently connected at one end to line.
