Wiring digital timer for exterior wall light

Hi all-

First post here. I'd like to replace a wall switch for an external light (garage) with a digital timer (Utilitech). The current switch is wired with a black/hot and red wire (pictured on right). The white/neutral wires are all wired together but not connected to the switch. The timer should be wired as per the attached instructions. Not sure how I need to wire the red if at all? Do I need to run a neutral to the timer? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Black wire goes to L-I terminal. Red wire goes to L-O terminal. Run a white wire from the N terminal (either one) and connect it to the other white wires using the wire nut. Bare wire goes to the G terminal.
