Hello all, I'm trying to replace the useless old razor only outlet in my bathroom with a GFCI and I can't get it to work. I have a black and a white wire and no ground wire present. I have the black wire attach the the hot line terminal and the white wire attached to the white line terminal. (I've tried the opposite as well in case of mislabeling.) Is it not working because it isn't grounded? Is there a way for me to ground it when there isn't a ground wire? Thanks in advance, Jamie

Hi all, My house was build in '52, this box is pretty old school and most of my house doesn't have a real ground. I am adding a washer and dryer to the garage and my dryer is 220 (240?) Also adding a second 110 outlet, just standard which I can probably jump off an existing outlet for that in my garage? But the 220, I've never had any on this home. I am comfortable doing electrical but I've only messed with switches, outlets, basic wiring in my attic, I may be hiring someone but still want some advice, mainly on this box and if it looks ok. My house is small, I hardly use any electrical, 1080sq ft. In addition to that, weather I hire someone or not (Im pretty sure someone is helping me out on this) I'll be buying the parts needed, so also curious about wire type, and materials.
