Motion detector lights and attic fan....both on same line?

My motion detector lights were working fine two days ago.

The roofer installed an attic fan yesterday.

Question: If he used the motion detector line in the attic for electricity for the attic fan, could that be the reason my motion detector lights are not working correctly? Some of the motion detector lights turn on, but others do not. They all turn on when I turn them on manually.

I don't want to compain to the roofer until I know if that is the problem.

Thank you.

It's pretty unlikely...even though I am suspicious of coincidences!

I'm assuming the lights operated independently before (meaning each has it's own motion sensor controlling it) as opposed to a setup where one motion sensor controls them all. Is that correct?

Given that they all work when operated manually, its hard to image that installing the fan screwed anything up.

Has there been a recent change in temperature in your area? Motion sensors are notorious for changing sensitivity when the temp drops....

I doubt the attic ventilator is your problem. That being said, I'd never recommend hiring an electrician to do a roofing job. OR a roofer to do electrical work.
