Wiring a light with 2 switches in a 1978 built home with red, black, white wires

How do I Wiring a light with 2 switches in a 1978 built home with red, black, white wire only. I have 2-3 way switches on each wall but nothing I do works.

The red and black wires have 120 volts

This was working previously ?
Do you ONLY have red, white and black at each switch ?
Nothing else in the box ?
