Help with Landscape lighting

We recently purchased a house that has a lot of landscape lighting that was neglected. There were several areas disconnected because of the circuits were blowing and shutting down walk way and driveway areas. I have fixed all the fixtures now and trying to reconnect the lawn areas. There are 8 wires to reconnect together where they were disconnected. 2 Red,2 white, 2 black and 2 ground. I thought all I needed to do was connect the white to white, red to red and black to black and the grounds to continue the flow of power but this has not worked. No circuits blowing but no lights coming on. Can anyone help me with some advice?

Is this line voltage (120v AC)?

Was this in a switch box? Have you determined where power comes in? (Note power can not be determined using a non contact tester.) Can you post pictures of the eight wires? http://www.doityourself.com/forum/li...rt-images.html

Is there a switch some where? If so we need to see the connections there. If switches, one or two switches?

That is not an acceptable box,it's a ring and should be replaced, with a weather proof box,can you determine where the sealtight goes,is there another junction box?
