pot light wiring question.

pot light wiring question.

Hey guys am changing out some old pot lights & came across this old wiring that has a copper stranded conductor with a cloth insulation is it ok to splice in 14-2 awg wire to this?

I'm guessing your located in the city where conduit and metal clad wiring is required.

As long as the insulation is not cracking..... the wiring can be reused.

I cannot put ontario so i choose the closes state to me.
